Yet-i

Yet. I. It just came to me all of a sudden. Yet, I might. Yet-I. Might what? Might do something irregular and different. I mean, I already coined a nonsense word: Xog. Why don’t I see where else I can take it? It is different, being me. I am far too old to be silly yet, I seem to have a penchant for silliness in serious situations. I guess I always have but childhood is a fuzzy image so thinking back leaves no photography but one of sunny skies and butterflies. Occasionally, one of my older brothers would beat me up for no good reason but that ten or eleven times were the exception, not the rule. I got over it and went to Vietnam.

Do you see a pattern here? I fail to, but you may be a psychiatrist and want me to come to see you in your New York office. I no longer fly so that is out. I flew in combat in helicopters from time to time so that may be the reason airplanes and I don’t get along so well. I can drive long distances and arrive in the same places so why bother.

Welcome to Xog Yeti, a place where good sense comes to die. Of course, good sense is no longer accepted when being stupid fills the bill so I guess we are all in the same boat? Good sense is, in no small way, common sense but when life in America gets this easy for so many, common sense is relegated to the dust pile. The same thing happened in Ancient Rome so we have a guide to loss of sense. One might think that World War Two would be so pure an example of being daft that we would have learned from WW 2 that being stupid and hating people due to their race or religious affiliation is pure “D” dumb. But, no, we are still rowing against the tide, standing still in the waters of history. I want out of that boat, don’t you?

Death is what takes us out of that boat, that dingy, that sam-pan, that yacht, that Steam Ship Titanic. I am closer to death than most who will come here and that is fine. I expected no less than death but only at the end of a long life. I had no reason to think of a long life in Vietnam now did I? Nope, simply, nope. None of us did so our lives became more sensible. Politics make no sense either but politics is necessary so that we don’t kill each other on a huge scale, a factory of death set up on each city block. We are closer to that than many think though. When common sense dies so does a population. This is why we have history written down so that we can learn from it? HA! Waste of time–history. Unless a body gets paid well for jotting down the stupid nature of mankind.

Ah, but I digress but only because I am good at digressing. Indeed, digressing is an art form known to the few who went to war and came home unscathed while others were blown from viable human beings to so much reddish pink vapor in the blink of an eye. A chunk of brain over there. A finger in that tree down that way. A head in a helmet . . . how did that manage to land there? Wow, I didn’t know that was even possible! Ain’t physics a wonder?

Xog Yeti. An interesting diversion from the streets of a large metropolitan area. A place to reckon about what in the hell we are doing to one another. We are all in the same damn boat you know? We are all children of God you know? No. Too many don’t know and that is the sad truth that comes sneaking into our psyche when God is ushered out the back door. Who would consider belief in God important to our being friendly instead of killing one another? Because God told us that without Him we are so much hamburger walking. It seems to be our job to prove Him right, huh? Oh well, in the end we all die a miserable death except for those who are stoned, drunk, or riding the high side of life’s carnival ride when death takes them. Whap! Gone from life. That was easy.

I recommend deep thought of who and what we are, starting with the frailty of human kind and how this planet has managed to allow all of us to get here, wherever here is for us at this moment in time. Time, it is not a guarantee is it? Smart asses seem to think so. It isn’t so, that we will live forever. It is so that faith can allow you to though. Circumnavigation of life is warranted before death. I recommend it highly.
